I personally enjoyed Gumpas' title as the governor being "His Sufficiency" it almost seems a blow to his person. Often times it's "His Excellency"... It's like getting "sufficient" (enough) on a paper rather than "excellent" (above par) #hum122unc

I am. CACKLING. I was texting my dad about chronicles of Narnia and about checking our copy for Maugrim vs Fenris and he just said “And Lewis was too smart to bring mythology into a Christian allegory.” 🤣 #hum122unc

With Edmund’s initial meeting with the White Witch, & return to her, I think of stories of the Fae. Particularly w/ the magic Turkish Delight. I get a similar feeling from Edmund & the TD to warnings not to eat food offered in the fairy realm, lest you be trapped there #hum122unc

I wasn't expecting C.S. Lewis to directly quote biblical figures since he's been doing so figuratively throughout the books. I kind of like how he directly related Jadis to Lilith. When I think of Jadis, I directly picture Lilith and her beauty. #hum122unc

I think there could be a strong correlation between Aslan and the Lion of Judah (another name for God). There's a certain aspect of the fierceness of a lion and the grieving tears of the lost that resemble Lewis' view of God. #hum122unc

I find it interesting how lions are common characters. In chapters 7-9, of "the magician's nephew," the lion is the creator of life and shows strength. The lion is in the countess of the fountain too. He protects Owein and shows the same strength too. Interesting! #hum122unc
