Does behavioral targeting create value? Now, we have 5 academic & industry (grey) studies that quantify how much value is lost without cookies. The loss estimates are: 65%, >66%, 52%, 4%, & 52%. I summarize the studies below.
The @ICOnews is today hosting another #IcoAdTech event (like others am not worthy). So👇 ya know. Perhaps the ICO should take complaints from individuals more seriously and address them more competently.
I referred a testing lab to the ICO. An utter waste of time. The ICO appeared not to have a clue. “Yorktest has informed use they cannot directly identify you from the data collected.” And "We are satisfied that YorkTest have updated their cookie consents so they are no longer ..
Note for #ICOAdTech, the IAB CMP validator only tackles the presentation of CMP consent menus, but does not tackle the underlying issue of data security.
I am slightly wary of some of the excellent future plans being suggested, in that they sound great but are currently Vapourware.
Nevertheless the fact that actual privacy solutions are being suggested shows that the problems with current AdTech can be solved.

Google are explaining the changes they announced last week about removing some bid request information.
This is a minimal step in our view. The timing I am sure is not a coincidence. But if it isn't enough: will the regulator @ICOnews regulate?
