In Romanian folklore crossroads are “weak" places: magical thresholds where the boundary between living and spiritual realms vanishes. Strigoii, the iele, all evil spirits gather there, their powers heightened, lying in wait for unwary travellers.

You should know, and believe, that wolves are able to speak like humans on the night of St. Andrew, 30th of November. And if they'll get at you, bite you, you will turn into a werewolf. You've been warned.

I saw a face in this stone in December 2023!
Dusty grey, sea blue,
Cinderella or Rouge,
Jack-o-lantern, sunny one too,
Bright yellow smiling at you:
#Pumpkins are ready. Pick one. It's true:
If you pick under the Moon,
When fog kisses tree tops
and leaves are wet underfoot,
Your wish comes true!

A Saxon dowry chest in Transylvania could hold more than linen and clothing. It held a girl's future.
If it was forgotten... the marriage never happened.
The girl died.
Or the future everyone prepared for her simply vanished.🌿

Before #urbanlegends set in, Lipscani Street in Old Town Bucharest came to be after 1459, when Vlad the Impaler built his Royal Palace there.
In 18th cent. Leipzig cloths & jewls were sold here by "Lipscas" & so this Main Street was renamed.

I've added a couple of them to visualize:
Where Did Vlad the Impaler Live?
Part 1: Sighișoara, Târgoviște, Gallipoli, and Eğrigöz https://t.co/mSGk0RZI2Q via @PatFurstenberg
More maps coming soon, as well as part 2 of Vlad's travels.

Deep in Transylvania's forests lurks Muma Pădurii, the Mother of the Forest.
A terrifying crone or a beautiful woman, she lures travellers off the safe path. Feared & respected, she reminds us that some woods still protect their secrets.
