LANGHE is one of the five broad sub-regions in Piedmont, located in the hilly landscape of the Apennines. Recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2014, its rolling hills, exceptional soils, and ideal microclimate provide the perfect conditions for Nebbiolo, the noble grape behind Barolo.
BAROLO is one of the four DOCG wine-growing areas of the Langhe. Produced exclusively from 100% Nebbiolo, it spans 11 communes: Barolo, Castiglione Falletto, Serralunga d’Alba, La Morra, Monforte d’Alba, Novello, Verduno, Grinzane Cavour, Diano d’Alba, Cherasco, and Roddi.

Stretching between the Mediterranean and Northern Europe, the Rhône Valley forms a natural corridor shaped by the Rhône River itself, a powerful force that defines both landscape and identity.
Its strength lies in diversity: granite, clay, and sand each give the wines their own character.
NORTHERN RHÔNE
Here, the identity of the wines becomes more precise. Steep slopes, terraced vineyards, and granitic soils shape wines of structure, intensity, finesse, and balanced acidity.
From this northern landscape emerges one of the most remarkable appellations of the Rhône Valley
CÔTE ROTIE
Located on the right bank of the Rhône, just south of Vienne and about 30 km from Lyon, it is the northernmost appellation of the valley. Here, the vineyard takes on a striking vertical dimension, unfolding across steep, terraced slopes where gradients can exceed 60%. These narrow parcels, sometimes only a few dozen vines wide, demand meticulous and entirely manual work, making viticulture as demanding as it is precise.
Its vineyard is composed of numerous lieux-dits, each contributing nuance and complexity to the wines.
At its core lies Syrah which can be used alone or complemented by up to 20% of Viognier, a rare and distinctive feature unique to this appellation.
It is produced by Pierre Gaillard, crafted from 90% Syrah and 10% Viognier, sourced from 30-year-old vines rooted on steep hillside terraces and meticulously hand-harvested at optimal ripeness to capture the true essence of the appellation #inyourglass 🍷
Paired with Daube de Bœuf à la Syrah and a Gratin Dauphinois, the experience unfolded as a true journey through the steep slopes of Côte-Rôtie, where every nuance #inyourglass echoed the depth, warmth, and complexity of its origin.

RHÔNE VALLEY
One of France’s major wine regions, stretching from Vienne in the north to Avignon in the south. It is divided into two distinct sections: the Northern Rhône and the Southern Rhône, each with its own climate, grape varieties, and stylistic identity.
NORTHERN RHÔNE
The smaller, more continental section of the Rhône Valley. Here, Syrah reigns supreme, shaping wines of structure, precision, and age-worthiness from Côte-Rôtie to Cornas.
For whites, the region is defined by three distinct varieties: Viognier in Condrieu and Château-Grillet, and Marsanne and Roussanne across the other white appellations, including Hermitage, Crozes-Hermitage, Saint-Joseph, and Saint-Péray.
SAINT-PÉRAY
At the southern end of the Northern Rhône lies a small appellation dedicated exclusively to white wines, often overlooked beside its more renowned neighbours. Its vineyards are located on south- and southeast-facing slopes composed primarily of limestone, marl, and clay-limestone formations, with areas of calcareous scree and colluvial deposits. These soils allow for full ripening while maintaining structural balance.
The appellation is planted to two white grape varieties: Marsanne and Roussanne. Wines may be produced as a blend of the two varieties or from either variety vinified alone. In practice, Marsanne frequently forms the dominant component.
In addition to still wines, a limited quantity of sparkling wine is also produced under the traditional method.
The wine #inmyglass was a 2024 Saint-Péray “Gemini” by Famille Cecillon, a Marsanne-led blend with Roussanne, from 35-year-old vines grown on clay-limestone soils at the southern edge of the Northern Rhône, fermented with native yeasts in barrel, aged 11 months (10% new oak), with regular bâtonnage. Barrel fermentation and élevage brought texture and integration without masking the terroir.

MONTALCINO, a small hilltop town in southern Tuscany, is the birthplace of Brunello di Montalcino DOCG, the first wine in Italy to be awarded the prestigious DOCG designation. Surrounded by higher-altitude vineyards and diverse galestro soils, the area produces wines exclusively from Sangiovese, governed by some of the country’s strictest regulations, including extended mandatory aging that delays release for years.
