As a part of Reading Campaign – #IndiaGetsReading 2026, Jharkhand will conduct ‘Our Story in Our Words’ activity today on 27th August.
Children will have the opportunity to write their own stories inspired by their experiences, imagination, local surroundings, and culture. Children will be encouraged to express themselves freely in their own language and style.
All the stories written by them can be compiled at the class or school level and presented as a book, giving children an opportunity to establish themselves as independent writers.
We request all teachers and stakeholders to actively conduct this activity and provide children with meaningful opportunities to write, express their ideas, and develop confidence as independent writers and readers.

As a part of Reading Campaign – #IndiaGetsReading 2026, Jharkhand will observe 𝟏𝟎𝟎 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐬 𝐒𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲 𝐂𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 Sessions today, 24th August.
In this activity, Children will write a story of up to 100 words on the theme “My Favourite Book.” This activity encourages children’s creativity and self-expression. It provides children with an opportunity to think independently and write stories based on their ideas and imagination.
If required, children from the younger grades can also present their stories through drawings. Selected stories can be displayed and shared at the school level.
We request all teachers and stakeholders to actively conduct this activity and provide children with meaningful opportunities to write, express their ideas, and develop confidence as independent writers and readers.

As a part of Reading Campaign – #IndiaGetsReading 2026, Jharkhand will conduct Shared Reading Sessions today, 21st August.
In this activity, the teacher and children will read the same book, story or text together. While reading, the teacher encourages children to pay attention to words, sentences and illustrations, read along and discuss the story. This helps children develop reading confidence, vocabulary, reading skills, thinking abilities and comprehension.
For Shared Reading, teachers can use children’s literature provided by the Government of Jharkhand, other storybooks available in the library, age-appropriate stories and texts from textbooks, reading cards provided in the FLN Kit, and other reading materials.
During Shared Reading, use books or stories for which multiple copies are available, or use a Big Book, so that all children can participate effectively.

#IndiaGetsReading in Sirohi! 📚🚐
On September 11, a Mobile Library Van brought joy to children in Sirohi under the Prakhar Rajasthan 2.0.
Ms. Asha Mandawat (Deputy Director, RSCERT & District In-charge, Sirohi), and other key government officials supported the initiative.
The #IndiaGetsReading campaign is in full swing in Uttar Pradesh! On September 3–4, the Mobile Library Van was inaugurated in Amethi & Basti by Mr. Raveesh Gupta, D.M., and other government officials supporting children’s reading and learning.
On 3 Sept in Dehradun, a Mobile Library Van was launched at SCERT by Ms. Bandana Gabriyal, Director, Academic Research and Training, and Mr. Kuldeep Gairola, Additional State Project Director, carrying stories to homes and communities across the state.
