Here’s an important question.
It is now understood that the #INSETA Board has taken the morally courageous decision to suspend the INSETA CEO over serious governance irregularities. These are reportedly new irregularities, separate from those that @OUTASA and others have been reporting on for years.
One would therefore expect such a significant development to be communicated through a formal media statement and published on the INSETA website to inform stakeholders of this important matter.
Yet, to date, no such announcement has been made, despite the suspension reportedly having been in place for more than a week.
This raises a number of questions:
Has the Board prepared a statement and instructed INSETA management to distribute it through its normal communication channels, including publication on the website?
Or has the Board failed to prepare a statement and/or failed to instruct management to communicate this development?
If the Board has prepared a statement and issued the necessary instructions, but INSETA management is reluctant or refusing to publish it, this would constitute a serious transgression and may indicate that agendas or interference are at play, possibly to keep a lid on the matter and protect Ms Mkhize.
Which is it?
Has no statement been prepared and, if so, why not?
If a statement has been prepared, why has it not been released?
If Board instructions have been ignored, what disciplinary action will be taken against those responsible?
Or are instructions coming from higher up, or from outside INSETA, to prevent the publication of this important announcement? @HigherEduGovZA

The suspension of #GuguMkhize as CEO of #Inseta is long overdue. Society must celebrate State entity boards that exercise moral courage and stand their ground on matters of required governance of CEO’s. They must resist external & political interference & Minister Manamela would be wise not to interfere here, despite likely pressure from those around him (including Ms Mkhize), to have her suspension lifted.

Because the #SETA system is buckling, and too many red flags are being ignored.
What our investigation found is deeply concerning:
A R14 million relocation tender awarded to a contractor with no clear track record in that space
A cancelled accreditation that could trigger a R200 million lawsuit
An R18 million data-cleanup contract given to a company linked to a former board chair - then abruptly withdrawn
Whistleblowers sidelined. Oversight bodies kept in the dark.
The system was meant to build skills. Instead, we’re seeing signs of waste, mismanagement, and governance failures.
