I’ll never forget the time we filmed the Georgia Guidestones and two women showed up and were reading the commandments. After “Maintain humanity under 500,000,000 in perpetual balance with nature,” one of them said something like, “Sounds reasonable,” as if she thought she and her loved ones would be in the roughly 7% of people left. This memory pops back into my head on occasion and I've come to the realization that I will likely neverbe able to understand her. I will probably die off this earth still wondering how someone could nonchalantly advocate for the depopulation of over 90% of the planet with little more than a shoulder shrug without so much as a second thought like it's nothing.
