“I’M A GOOD BOY” this Cuban boy likes showing off by shaking his cakes while sucking daddy’s dick.

I didn't start using this app until recently, but I'm already a toddler on it.

introducing: the nutcracker legion.
the very serious, and totally mature enemy faction for Jackstrap, the game about a living jockstrap.
#gamedev #jackstrap #indiegame
After intense, high-level game design thinking, I have identified the perfect enemy faction for my game about defending testicles:
nutcrackers.
Yes, this is the level of maturity we’re working with.

Adding tiny variant-specific details is dangerous.
Now I want every version of Jack to die differently.

Jack is a living jockstrap.
His mission is simple: protect the Family Jewels from the Nutcracker Legion.
JACKSTRAP is a hand-drawn top-down arena survivor coming soon to Steam.

Humans are odd.
Ever since I started making fighting outfits for Jack, my jockstrap character, seeing him without one makes him look naked.
But he’s literally a piece of cloth.
He can’t be naked.

This was the first animation I ever made.
Jack running in an 8-direction loop.
The run animation is 12 frames, closely following the classic 12-frame run cycle from Richard Williams’ Animator’s Survival Kit.

Once I catch up to devlog #16, I’ll switch to a regular 2x/week devlog schedule.

In case you were wondering what Jackstrap actually is:
It's a game about playing as a living jockstrap and defending the family jewels.
Just a normal, serious videogame.

Stress testing Jackstrap's enemy count before any optimization work.
Right now it starts getting messy at 350 enemies on screen. Not bad for a raw pass, but there’s clearly a lot of optimization ahead once I add enemy types, behaviors, animations.

testing environment interactions
the boxing ring ropes are bouncy, so they can fling enemies away or even launch Jack if you use them right.
still tuning it, but I like the idea of the arena itself becoming part of the movement and combat.
