At Lockhart ISD, we’re working to empower strong leaders—this is what #LockhartLeading is all about! 💡✨ Today, we hosted leaders from across the United States at Borchert Loop Elementary to see how our Shared Leadership Model works in practice to support students, teachers, and administrators. Our story began in 2021, when we started rethinking our leadership approach and piloted Shared Leadership at Plum Creek Elementary. Since then, Plum Creek has earned an A-rating, and the model has expanded to elementary and secondary schools across the district. This approach invests in our teacher leaders and gives them a meaningful voice in decision-making and compensates them for their expertise and leadership. They serve on campus leadership teams, support the growth of their peers, and take the next step in their careers—all while staying in the classroom.
