The bottom line is that since Kei was a truly kind person who was abused, discarded, manipulated, disrespected, revived, and then walked the path of revenge after awakening to an evil society filled with obvious faults and corruption, technically, the only way he will die is by suicide through ending the JAA himself, as explained by Kashima, from their policy in the X Organization especially since Kei is the BOSS X in it.
Sorry, but I will never give up on that theory that it might happen in the future. I guess that's how the narrative could go, giving even more impact to this chaotic mess. Kei did not choose to become a villain; rather, opportunity and extreme hardship led him to realize there was a path to becoming one, so he stepped into that role himself as the only villain in the series with substance.
