Behind every recruit is a family that has supported them every step of the way.
Last night, the loved ones of Miami-Dade Fire Rescue Recruit Class 160 were welcomed to the #MDFR Training Center for Family Night. This gave them the opportunity to experience a glimpse of the journey the recruits have taken over the past several months.
From meeting the leadership of MDFR to watching a live demonstration of their firefighting skills, the evening celebrated the dedication, sacrifice, and support that helped bring these recruits to this milestone.
Next Thursday, #MDFRClass160 will officially receive their firefighter badges. We can't wait to celebrate this incredible achievement with them and the families who have stood beside them every step of the way.

#MDFR wishes everyone in Miami-Dade County a very safe and happy #FourthOfJuly!
To have a safe celebration, it’s best to leave the fireworks to the experts.
If celebrating at home, keep a bucket of water, fire extinguisher, or hose nearby to prevent any potential fires. Always soak all fireworks, whether used or unused, before throwing them away to prevent any trash fires.
As we celebrate the 250th anniversary of the United States, Miami-Dade Fire Rescue wishes everyone a happy and safe Fourth of July. Our #MDFR crews are proud to serve our community today, just as they do every day.
Remember, the safest way to enjoy the holiday is by attending a community fireworks display. If you choose to use fireworks at home, only purchase them from approved vendors and follow all safety precautions.

Did you know that sparklers can burn up to 2,000 degrees Fahrenheit? As the #FourthOfJuly approaches, #MDFR reminds you that the safest way to celebrate is to leave the fireworks to the professionals.

Together, our personnel helped unload donations that will soon make their way to Venezuela.
We have witnessed the South Florida community rally behind the people of Venezuela and were proud to stand alongside our community in support of this humanitarian mission to help ensure critical supplies reach those who need them most.

Shifting winds continue to influence smoke conditions in nearby areas and may affect visibility on nearby roadways. Drivers may encounter smoky or hazy conditions, and temporary road closures remain possible overnight.
If you must drive through smoke or haze, use extra caution, increase your following distance, and use low-beam headlights.
Overnight weather conditions may cause smoke to settle closer to the ground in surrounding communities. Those near the affected areas may see or smell smoke.
If smoke is present in your area, limit time outdoors, keep doors and windows closed, and set air conditioning systems to recirculate indoor air. These precautions are especially important for individuals with respiratory conditions.
