Desford Colliery Band begin with the sound that everyone has been waiting for all day, and that everyone has been expecting, with sweet sounds coming from all over the band, especially in the Soprano cornet. #midlandsarea #Regs2023
Band 3
Ratby give a thoroughly enjoyable performance, bringing through all the hidden parts we hadn’t heard so far today. There’s a strong 5 person percussion section, making sure every part is put in, and everything is played extremely well (pt1) #midlandsarea #Regs2023

Band 14
The last band in the 3rd section today was Long Eaton Silver who rounded off the contest really well. The principal euphonium played with a lovely, warm sound, and the band had a good drive, which kept the momentum going all throughout the piece. #midlandsarea #Regs2023
Band 13
Cubbington Silver also suffered with a few missing players in the tuba, flugel, trombone, percussion and back row sections, meaning a cornet player had to start in the percussion section at the beginning, but nevertheless played well, pt1.

Cleobury Mortimer make an impressive performance, especially the percussionist that did most of the tuned percussion herself and played beautifully. It was a good performance but it didn’t go unpunished, and it was a well balanced sound overall.

Band 8
Stourport on Severn danced there way through Chorale and Toccata with their expressive MD. They reclaim their performance after a shaky beginning. With a full band and 4 percussion, which is something we haven’t always seen over the whole weekend, (pt1)

Despite a smaller percussion team, they did extremely well to put in all of the parts with just two players. It was a promising performance, and balanced in all aspects 🎺🎺

Towcester Studio despite being a few cornets down give everything they have into this performance, with shaky intonation at the beginning but settled, and grew with an exciting ending. Well performed 🎺🎺
