VALIDATE students who experience hate crimes and microaggressions. Some students' ongoing fear is that they are not being believed and have no power. Academic advisors should be intentional about validation as a key part of a trauma-informed response. #nacadaweb #acadv

It’s so important as Advisors that we effectively listen to what our students are saying. Coaching is important. They look to us to help them when needed. No longer are we just providing schedules. 2020 changed soo much for us all. Trauma informed advising.
