Here's a word most people are very reluctant to use: Slave. That's unfortunate. It can prevent certain ideas from being communicated with the proper amount of salience and emotional punch. As a party, we've focused almost exclusively on Donald Trump's hate for people of color and migrants. That's had the effect of creating a bias blind spot, which makes it difficult for millions of White people to see themselves in the same frame of reference as non-White people in this country if Trump is elected. What Donald Trump and Project 2025 are planning to implement is a form of slavery: a form of slavery that won't even grant the one-time 3/5 fifths of a person status that African American slaves were granted in 1787 as a result of the three-fifths compromise, for taxation and representation in Congress. When you examine Project 2025 and the inflammatory language and threats (some veiled threats, and some not) of Trump, Tucker Carlson, sitting members of Congress, and others connected to Project 2025, the way those pushing this agenda see those whose rights would be impacted/eliminated and the consequence of that on their lives. No race, culture, or ethnicity will be spared. It's likely that only the very wealthy would be viewed as and treated in what could be seen as a non-slave status. I'm not talking about someone purchasing you at an auction and then working you to death, keeping you in chains if necessary. I'm talking about the psychology of how you are viewed regarding your rights and whether you are treated like any other law-abiding human being. Even after slavery was abolished, Blacks were treated very much like slaves for many years, and I argue that, in some situations of life, remnants of the three-fifths of a person (or less) beliefs still drive a good deal of the behavior from how some White people treat people of color. If you want to get the attention of the average White person, convincingly show them how the different facets of slavery might be applied to them in a different environment. If Republicans are so convinced they have the Supreme Court in their pocket, and therefore, there's no real need to win the election...because they will successfully steal it by having the election overturned...why do they even care who Democrats have on the ticket? Why have they attacked President Biden so hard? While the United States Supreme Court is corrupt, I believe that not even Trump can accurately gauge just how corrupt it is. Can he...or anyone else, know with 100% certainty that SCOTUS will rule in his favor, no matter what the circumstances are? That's a question worth considering. Personally, I say, "No. They cannot." Human beings are full of surprises, even when they say, "I promise." Is there real fear in the Republican Party? That's another question worth considering and assessing. As for myself, I see real signs of fear within the Republican Party. Fear about the unknown. If you're selling your home and have already deposited the buyer's check ( and it has cleared), you won't have to worry about the deal "falling through." Where there is fear, there are one or more elements of the "deal" that have not been completed. Thus, I am convinced Republicans feel they must win the election and that otherwise, whether they wind up in the White House...or don't...is anyone's guess. One thing is for sure: We must win. If not, there will be nothing to fight to hold onto and try to keep them from ripping away. It would just be..."They won," and done. Before we can fight to keep it, we have to win it.
