Does anyone actually believe that the Liberal Prime Minister Mark Carney and BC NDP Premier David Eby will let a pipeline be constructed? With the Northern pipeline route blocked and the recently signed Lower Mainland Aboriginal Title agreement, the Musqueam do not just need to be "consulted" like the other 107 bands along the route but they also have a total veto power. The anti-oil and gas Chief Wayne Sparrow effectively has control over whether the pipeline project goes forward. Alberta Premier Danielle Smith is sincere in her mission to build pipelines for Alberta and Canada but Carney and Eby are using the Reconciliation Industry to block or heavily delay the construction. We should be building more pipelines and not blocking off North West British Columbia from receiving the benefits of new oil and gas infrastructure.
