1/4 Before I share this particular experience, I think it's important to provide some context about who I was at the time and some of the events that shaped my understanding of reality long before this incident occurred.
I was fortunate to have a good childhood growing up in the Midwest. From the outside, my life appeared fairly ordinary. I grew up in a loving environment, was active in school, played sports, made music, spent time with friends, participated in community activities, and generally enjoyed many of the same experiences as everyone else my age.
What most people didn't see was that there was another side to my life that had been present for as long as I can remember.
I was raised Christian Catholic and attended church regularly throughout my childhood. Faith was always present in my life, but so were experiences that didn't fit neatly into the framework I had been given.
From an early age, I experienced what I would later come to understand as astral projection. At the time, I didn't have language for it. To me, it was simply part of life. I would go to sleep and find myself in places that felt just as real โ sometimes even more real โ than waking reality.
These experiences weren't random dreams.
Many of them felt instructional in nature.
I would find myself learning things, observing things, and interacting with intelligences that seemed far more aware than I was. As a child, I simply accepted these experiences as normal because they had always been there. Looking back, I now believe many of those encounters involved what people today might describe as Non-Human Intelligence communicating through the astral state.
Whether someone chooses to interpret those experiences as dreams, spiritual encounters, astral travel, or something else entirely is up to them.
All I can say is that those experiences taught me things.
Many of the ideas I would later spend years discussing with others first appeared during those journeys.
As I grew older, especially during my teenage years, more and more of those experiences began making sense. Fragments of understanding that seemed disconnected in childhood gradually started forming a larger picture.
Then, at the beginning of my senior year of high school, something happened that changed my life forever.
I experienced a near-death event that resulted in me falling into a coma.
What occurred during that period remains one of the most profound experiences of my life.
While my physical body was unconscious, my awareness was not.
I remember existing in what appeared to be another reality entirely. One of the strongest memories I carried back involved what seemed to be ancient Egypt. Time there didn't operate the way it does here. What felt like thousands of years passed during the experience. Whether it was literally three thousand years or whether time simply appeared that way, I cannot say with certainty.
What I can say is that the experience felt like an entire lifetime โ or many lifetimes โ compressed into a period that, from the perspective of this world, was relatively brief.
During that experience, I encountered beings that communicated profound insights regarding consciousness, life, death, and existence itself.
When I eventually regained consciousness and returned to ordinary life, everything felt different.
Things that once seemed confusing suddenly made sense.
My understanding of reality had fundamentally changed.
More importantly, I no longer viewed consciousness as something confined to the physical body.
I came away from that experience with an overwhelming certainty that life continues beyond physical death.
At the same time, I realized that many popular ideas about death and the afterlife represented only a small piece of a much larger reality.
