Instead of praying for rain and wasting it. Pray for wisdom to use the moisture that we receive wisely. - dale strickler. #notilltx
Converting CRP to Crop land can undo all the good with one tillage pass. Incorporate multi species cover crops and livestock prior to planting a notill cropping system. #notillTX
Cotton, Rice, Soybeans, & Wheat will respond better to High CO2 concentrations in the atmosphere due to their C3 photosynthesis systems as compared to corn & grain sorghum with C4 systems - Dr Hake #notillTX
Dr Jourdan Bell showing info on preirrigation on bare Soil and the rapid decline of soil moisture shortly ther after. Only way to make sure every inch gets where it needs to is to have residue on the Soil surface. #notilltx

Jeremy Brown states that the reality we live in today and why he is changing the way he farms - farm income has dropped at the steepest decline since the depression and farm income is down 50% since 2013 #notilltx

Great question how do you get a landlord on board with a notill and rotation system. It starts with communication with your landlord, building Soil health makes that land more productive and valuable. Keep them in the loop on your progress. #notilltx
Surface residue keeps Soil cool in the summer and warm in the winter to take out extreme temp and moisture variations. It must be uniform. It also reduces wind erosion and feeds the microbes @kellykettner #notilltx
Importance of a Crop rotation is to try to help the next Crop with the previous one. Must be flexible to take advantage of the weather and markets. @kellykettner #notilltx

Life is not acausal it’s multicausal. RN started looking at his operation from a systems approach vs breaking each enterprise into its own to achieve success with no till and building Soil health for a more holistic approach. #notilltx
We don’t have an erosion problem we have an infiltration problem. Tillage causes clays to go in suspension and clog pore space. Adopting No till and live covers has increased infiltration rates from 1”/hr to 8”/hr #notilltx
90% of nutrient cycling in Soil is from biological activity. Only 40% of your applied nitrogen makes it to your Crop. Plants are not first feeders of nutrients. #notilltx
