According to the document, Suffolk Construction is seeking an H-1B foreign worker for a position titled “Site AI Engineer,” classified under Software Developers, with an annual salary ranging from $170,000 to $245,000. The proposed employment period runs from August 24, 2026, through August 23, 2029. For those unfamiliar with the H-1B program, it allows American employers to hire qualified foreign workers for specialized occupations. Companies must submit a Labor Condition Application to the U.S. Department of Labor and meet certain wage and employment requirements. We have American software developers struggling to find employment, including qualified individuals in Connecticut, yet this company is seeking authorization to employ a foreign worker for a position paying nearly a quarter of a million dollars annually. At the bottom, the notice identifies Scott McCullough, “Director of People & Culture”. A corporate title that sounds like it came straight out of a DEI handbook.
