It was specially planned with the incoming new board that Osborne helped get elected (by spreading lies about non-compliance). The District had reached 100% compliance under Ben's leadership. RLS only has to do audits every 3 years. They had just done one a few months before. The coordinated plan by legislators to take over control of UPTD was obvious in the way the new board attacked Ben (CEO of the District) at their swearing-in meeting. Bill Hagedorn (research his connection to the OTA lobbyist) threatened to fire Ben at the very first meeting. We received no help from elected leaders, despite all our actions ahead of the Transportation Package. Our board under Ben's leadership passed a resolution in support of the Republican's transportation plan. The Republicans could have easily used that as a talking point - "Rural Transit District Supports Republican Plan". They didn't want it. Under Ben's leadership, UPTD passed a resolution to comply with the Trump executive orders, removing DEI from all policies. The legislators didn't talk about it... they instead tried to get new board members elected. Then, when Ben went to DC to educate and secure funding for UPTD just before Oregon was cut off by the federal government, two new board members and the new CEO who was happy to see Ben go, appear to have told RLS that the trip was for "lobbying". UPTD, Vaughn v Loomis, and #ENDVBM are targets to our Republican legislators. Investigate why.
