If you know me, you know I enjoy a good game of chess. I also believe it is an important skill for our children to learn, as it helps to develop critical thinking, patience, discipline, and problem-solving abilities. Yesterday, we hosted a chess event in my constituency of West Central St. Andrew, where children from across the community came together for a day of learning, friendly competition, and fun. It was encouraging to see so many young people embracing the challenge and excitement of the game. I am grateful to everyone who helped to make this event possible, especially our organizers, volunteers, parents, and partners whose support created this opportunity for our young participants. Congratulations to all who took part. I look forward to seeing even more of our children discover and enjoy the game of chess.
