Pride is a protest, so I protested against the medicalisation of youth who will most likely simply grow up to be gay.
Got called a hater and a transphobe and all that and one guy tried to rip my sign up (got the police to have a word with him) but the amount of positive reactions and thumbs up were so heartening and really took me by surprise.
Crazy how my sign is ‘controversial’ but a woman in the parade carrying a “Teachers against TERFs” sign was all OK… 😵💫 Also: there were CHILD FURRIES… with furry tails, animal masks and ‘trans’ socks. Must have been about 10 or younger. One even crawled around like a cat.
Will report back more later. Feeling all sorts of emotions at the mo.

An open letter to the Chief Medical Officer in Iceland
Over the past few weeks, I have repeatedly tried to get the Chief Medical Officer in Iceland to answer my questions regarding the public sector's treatment options for individuals with gender distress, particularly children. Today, such treatments are carried out with non-evidence based and harmful procedures, which are therefore contravening criminal law and, in fact, criminal matter.
The answers of the office repeatedly miss the core of the matter, and therefore, as a last resort, I am writing this open letter and drawing public attention to the actions of the public health sector.
In Iceland, that treatment largely involves the use of so-called puberty blockers, the administration of anti-puberty drugs to children and young people who express gender distress. All the Nordic countries, except Iceland, have now stopped the use of these drugs because of their harmfulness. That fact, in addition to a large collection of scientific studies from all over the world, supports the conclusion that the treatment options in Iceland are non-evidence based and unscientific and thus in defiance of the law.
In response to the question, "When will the medical officer advocate that the use of these drugs be stopped in Iceland?"The office answers that at Landspítalinn (State Central Hospital),"experts work in accordance with the latest international guidelines of WPATH. "
Have Icelandic medical experts given foreign interest organisations decision-making power over Icelandic youth?
When this drug administration to young people is criticised, it is repeatedly stated that the treatment is reversible. They say when the consumption of the drugs is stopped, the body goes back to normal. This is a pile of lies, as has been demonstrated many times. Landspítali's treatment options are not a road with lanes in both directions. They are a one-way system. In fact, it's quite surprising to hear health authorities make such a claim after decades of railing against the use of hormones by bodybuilders and powerlifters on the grounds that it causes irreversible damage.
When asked about violations of the criminal law, the office simply refers to other legislation, the Act on the National Medical Examiner and Public Health no. 41/2007. The irreversible and harmful effects of drug administration on Icelandic youth do not outweigh this in the mind of the office.
That is a problem. The silence is excruciating. The experience in other countries is frightening. A long trail of young people is left steralised, mutilated, and scarred after these treatments that are practised right now in Iceland. Many also suffer from all kinds of ailments, such as osteoporosis and heart disease. They can not return "back to normal." They will not experience normal puberty and natural self-discovery, but most youth diagnosed with gender distress are actually gay individuals somewhere on the autism spectrum.
This brings me to my next point: The war against homosexuality. I'm gay but it didn't fully dawn on me until I hit puberty. Had I been an adolecent today, I would no doubt have been diagnosed with gender distress, and my parents would have been pressured to arrest my puberty and have my genitals mutilated. Instead of being a happily married gay man, I would be something else. Something unnatural from the shelves of pharmaceutical companies.
Homosexuals have been fighting for their right to exist for a long time. Not the right to be something or a demand that others change themselves somehow, let alone the language.
No, just the right to exist. This right is now under threat. Now homosexuals should be caught before they reach puberty, drugged, their genitals mutilated and re-labelled "trans."
This is eugenics, not unlike those that dubious people of the past have practised against people with mental retardation and gypsies.

Very interesting interview. I disagree with @sullydish that there is such a category as "trans kids", the stats from the Tavistock on comorbidities and a number of reasons for trans identification are many. I do agree that we need to #ProtectGayKids & truth.
