Bestellstopp: Sony hat in Japan die Bestellannahme für fast das gesamte Speicherkarten-Sortiment ausgesetzt. Betroffen sind CFexpress-Karten vom Typ A und B sowie SD-Karten nahezu aller Klassen. Der offizielle Grund ist eine weltweite Knappheit bei Speicherchips. Damit erreicht die Chipkrise nun ganz offen auch den Fotomarkt.
Hintergrund: Rechenzentren und KI-Konzerne kaufen NAND-Flash und DRAM in gigantischen Mengen auf. Während Google, Microsoft und Co. ihre Infrastruktur hochziehen, bleiben für klassische Elektronikprodukte immer weniger Kapazitäten übrig. Die Folge sind steigende Preise, Lieferengpässe und ein Markt, in dem selbst einfache Speicherkarten plötzlich zur Mangelware werden.
Wenn sogar Speicherkarten knapp werden, sieht man, wie brutal der globale Verdrängungskampf um Chips längst geworden ist.
