This is why Hezbollah assassinated Colonel Joseph Skaff #Beirut #Port_Explosion #Lebanon ------------------------------ This correspondence from as early as 21 February 2014 by Colonel Joseph Nicolas Skaf shows that Lebanese Customs formally warned about the cargo aboard the vessel RHOSUS. The document states that the ship was berthed at Quay No. 11 in the Port of Beirut, carrying ammonium nitrate, and warns that the cargo posed a danger to public safety. It refers to the ship entering the Port in 19 November 2012, on its way to Mozambique, and requests that the relevant port authorities take the necessary measures to deal with the hazardous shipment. --------------------- Who was Joseph Skaf? Colonel Joseph Nicolas Skaf was the head of the Anti-Narcotics and Anti-Money Laundering Section of Lebanese Customs. Joseph Skaf died in March 2017, shortly after retiring from Customs. His death was officially described as the result of an accidental fall. However, his family rejected that conclusion, after forensic examination and called for a proper investigation. ------------------- 12 years after this warning was written, Lebanon is still waiting for full accountability—not only for the Beirut Port explosion, but also for all those who tried to warn about the danger before it was too late.
