@physicianswkly A8 - Listen to understand before you speak as often as possible. Then engage in discussion using data that is understandable, and meet people where they are with understanding. Offer to discuss again as needed. Give grace & be kind. #PWChat

@stacey_klutts @physicianswkly THIS ⬆️ LOVE every single aspect of this but especially the "Say 'I don't know' if you don't." When that happens, I feel I can trust the person in front of me. #pwchat (And apologies for bardging into a physcian chat... @mloxton 's tweet just caught my attention!)

@physicianswkly A6 - I have done webinars, FB lives, news via TV, app, radio, podcasts & community meetings. The ability to have a Q&A, w understanding of being respectful throughout, is very powerful. #PWChat

A5 - I first need to manage my own emotions. Then I want to understand why the dismissal occurred. If we can engage in open discussion regarding the 'why', we can hopefully engage in meaningful discussion to move forward with. #PWChat

Q5: If you feel like your professional opinion is being dismissed in favor of misinformation, how have you handled that? #PWChat

@stacey_klutts @criley_md @mloxton @Indl_Learning Then (and I mean this in the best possible way) it is time to evolve. There is LOTS of our history that we should acknowledge, understand and move away from with the understanding that there is a better way. ❤️ #pwchat

A4 - First, you need to be in a place where you can still respond objectively or it only escalates. Second, remember you cannot change the minds of all, but we can do our best. Third, report hostility and threats to your organization as appropriate. #PWChat

A3 - One of my favorite things is to remind people that discerning what is accurate information is incredibly hard right now. There are smart people repeating incorrect information. Then engage in data that I follow, the studies & the interpretation. #PWChat

Q3: How have you approached “debunking” specific pieces of mis- and/or dis-information that are presented to you from patients & acquaintances (eg, videos or articles that are clearly incorrect)? #PWChat
