Johnny Depp keeps showing the world who he is.🖤 Eric Dane deserved a full life. He deserved more time. He deserved to fight ALS with every ounce of strength he had without also carrying the weight of financial fear. ALS is brutal. It takes the body quickly and without mercy. There is nothing gentle about it. There is nothing fair about it. I’ve watched three people close to me fight that battle. In the beginning of Eric’s diagnosis, Johnny stepped in quietly. He gave Eric a place to live. Virtually rent free “pay what you can” to preserve Eric’s dignity. It allowed Eric to remain close to the medical care he needed. One less thing to worry about during the hardest months of his life. That is what real friendship looks like. Johnny knows what it feels like to love someone who is sick. He understands that the last thing anyone should be thinking about in that moment is money. The American Healthcare system sucks. Out of pocket costs destroy families financially. Even wealthy ones. So Johnny helped because that's what he does. He cares. He loves his friends fiercely. At his core, he has always been someone who shows up when it matters the most.
