Israeli security forces state that the identities of all the attackers have been established and that they are known by name. A separate dossier is compiled for each wanted individual: who he was on October 7, exactly what he did, where he lives, what car he drives, whom he associates with, and where he usually hides. The work begins with thousands of hours of video footage. Analysts examine recordings from security cameras, vehicle dashcams, mobile phones, and GoPro cameras worn by the terrorists themselves. They also review clips from all social networks — even those that were later deleted. The faces found are run through biometric recognition systems. Matches are then cross-checked against intercepted conversations, intelligence data, phones, computers, and documents seized in Gaza. Additional information comes from interrogations of detainees, testimonies of released hostages, and material from Units 8200 and 504. Establishing a name is not enough. Specialists study the wanted man’s daily routine, his relatives, friends, places of work, routes, and habits. Sometimes surveillance continues for months or even years. Before an operation, it is necessary to confirm not only the identity but also the precise location of the target — down to a specific building, room, or window. If uninvolved people are nearby, the military may wait for a more suitable moment. According to published data, approximately 5,000 terrorists took part in the attack. About 2,800 of them have already been eliminated, and roughly 300 have been captured. Nearly 1,900 participants in the attack remain at large. Israel’s message is crystal clear: no matter how much time passes, those involved in the events of October 7 will continue to be hunted — one by one. Their names are known.
