HOW BROILER CHICKENS WERE DESIGNED AND WHO MADE IT HAPPEN 🐔 Broiler chickens weren’t created in a lab—they were developed through selective breeding over decades to grow fast and produce lots of meat. 🔙 It all started in the 1920s in the U.S. when farmers began raising chickens specifically for meat, not just eggs. 👩‍🌾 In 1923, a woman named Cecile Steele accidentally received 500 chicks instead of 50. She raised them for meat—and sold them successfully. That moment kicked off the commercial broiler industry. 🧬 Over time, breeders mixed strong, fast-growing chicken breeds like Cornish and Plymouth Rock to create birds that grow big in just 6–7 weeks. 📈 By the 1950s–60s, companies like Cobb and Shaver launched full-scale breeding programs, improving growth speed, feed efficiency, and meat yield. 💡 Today’s broilers are the result of decades of careful breeding—not genetic modification. They’re designed to grow fast, eat less, and produce more meat. #BroilerChicken #PoultryFarming #AgriRevolution
