This slab is called spider jasper, named for the fact that it looks like tiny spiders all over it. I hope to eventually get a piece of spider web jasper to match it lol. Other than that it's kinda hard to find any info on this one, maybe it goes under a different name? #Snaprocks

#Snaprocks !!! Here we have a little slab of rhodonite! Rhodonite is known for showing up beside this black stone, which is usually manganese oxide. Pimk :)

Seeing my favorite rock dealer today. Going to get many a rock oh yeah baybee
Happy #Snaprocks, where I suddenly remember this is a thing I do! This pretty rock is called larimar, one of my favorites. Larimar is only found in a specific area in the Dominican Republic

Haha hi gamers I completely forgot about this series. Anyways these are my pieces of fluorite! A fun fact about fluorite is that pure fluorite is actually clear, and the classic green/purple is from various impurities! #Snaprocks

This group of rocks are called sunstone! These cool guys look like rocks at first glance but are actually mostly made of crystals!! Sunstone used to be used in plates/cups because it was believed to counteract poison (sucks to be the guy who found out that was false) #Snaprocks

This is a pile of Lapis Lazuli that I own. While not the most fantastic of pieces, I like that they show a wide variety of what it can look like. The best piece I zoomed in on, which really showcases the golden flecks of mica that really make lapis so unique #Snaprocks

I showed my ruby in the past, but now Iโll finish the classic triad with my sapphire and emerald pieces. Theyโre both about the size of my fingernail! Yippee woohoo #Snaprocks

Bloodstone is a really neat thing, but its actual name is heliotrope. Usually, bloodstone is made up of a dark green jasper and red hematite inclusions, but it can come in other forms as well. Whoever named bloodstone gets a smooch from me #Snaprocks

One last #Snaprocks for the road? These are two lovely pieces of garnet that I own. I love their dark reds, their shiny bits, and their little orange crystals. Garnet is definitely one of my favorite rocks ever. I will take condolences for this series of mine when Twitter dies๐ซด

This is an awesome piece of peridot that I own. The other sides have crystals on it too but this is the best side. Fun fact: peridot is one of a few gems that only comes in one color, owing to the fact its color is derived from olivine instead of an impurity #Snaprocks

A litol! This is my teeny ruby zoisite. The rock contains red corundum and green zoisite, and is a type of ruby because when red corundum is gem grade thatโs a more classic ruby. Itโs also a good way to add a ruby to the collection without emptying my savings ๐

This is a piece of Bismuth, and itโs actually somewhat of a misconception that it naturally forms like this. Natural bismuth doesnโt look like this, but it has such a low melting point that you can melt it on your stove and it will come out looking like the pics! #Snaprocks

This is a piece of malachite, and it has this wild look+feel to it. The best way I can describe it as fluid/velvet. This also begins my Steven Universe Streak, seeing how long I can go only posting rocks that appeared in the show >:) #Snaprocks

This is a piece of rainbow hematite. Thereโs another rock called carborundum that has a very similar color scheme, but the difference is that carborundum is often man-made because the conditions for it are really rare. This rainbow hematite is all natural baybee ๐ #Snaprocks
This beauty is called grape agate (take a wild guess why lol). When I took this set of pictures, I put a ruler next to them just cause so enjoy that. This is definitely in my top favorites of my collection sheโs so weird and fucked up #Snaprocks

You get two for the price of one #Snaprocks tweet! On the left are Apache Tears, a type of obsidian, and on the right is hematoid quartz, which is basically quartz combined with the rust-like, iron-based hematite. Apache tears are also sometimes known as marekanite.

Itโs been a sec! This is Wyoming Opal. I like opals a lot because of their smoothness, but when youโre rock picking itโs really hard to tell if itโs an opal/agate. Also, if you shine a blacklight on this one, the yellowish bit glows a bright green! Isnโt that cool? #Snaprocks

This is a piece of lepidolite/mica. I love the way mica forms, and combining that with this dark purple was really cool looking to me #Snaprocks
