Brynia and I are sitting here like 2 strict teachers, and we've got a couple of thoughts and concerns to share—just some Saturday reflections. Everyone who asks us for help falls into 2 groups. 99% are incredibly modest. They understand there's a queue, they understand that fundraisers are moving slowly these days. The remaining 1% are children of all ages. They show up with things like: "I'm leaving today, solve my problem now," or "Drop everything and everyone else—we're short on gear here." It's interesting to watch as a cultural phenomenon, but honestly, it gets exhausting. There are also some funny moments with that same 1%. They'll ask us to buy certain equipment, and we explain, "That won't work because of this and this. We're buying this instead." Then they reply, "We didn't think that even existed." So they don't ask for advice first—they place an order, and then everything has to be reworked. Children, in a word. We help everyone. Not as quickly as we'd like, but almost everyone. We help that 1%, too, although sometimes a few of them get turned down—not because they're childish anymore, but because they're fully grown adults who still live by the principle of, "Dance around me—you’re volunteers!" Sometimes we have to remind people that volunteering is a voluntary act. It's the result of people communicating with people—not functions interacting with functions, or robots serving robots. What brings us endless joy, though, is the feeling that life has meaning. The feeling of truly living. When things work out. When, thanks to our help, lives are saved. Le régime admet désormais que 30 % des Iraniens vivent sous le seuil de pauvreté, mais par ailleurs, il indique que le taux de chômage n'est que de 6 %. C'est illogique car en réalité, tout cela est mensonger. La plupart des Iraniens sont sans emploi, mais ne sont pas considérés comme tels car le critère officiel pour ne pas être considéré comme chômeur est de travailler une heure par semaine ! Il y a peu de gens qui travaillent en Iran. Les meilleurs emplois se trouvent généralement dans le secteur public et, selon un site officiel, le salaire maximum pour un ouvrier ou un membre de base du Bassidj est de 16 millions de tomans, soit 100 dollars, tandis que celui d'un fonctionnaire est de 24 millions de tomans, soit 150 dollars. Enfin, le salaire d'un membre des Gardiens de la révolution ayant 30 ans de service est de 200 dollars. Certains policiers anti-émeutes gagneraient, paraît-il, 350 dollars. De plus, le coût mensuel pour une famille de quatre personnes (incluant seulement 900 grammes de viande et 2 kilogrammes de poulet) est d'environ 70 millions de tomans, soit 430 dollars ! ainsi pratiquement tout le monde vit dans la pauvreté, voire souffre de malnutrition, car non seulement les salaires ne suivent pas la hausse des prix alimentaires, mais il faut aussi payer le loyer, l'électricité et l'eau. À Téhéran, le loyer d'un appartement 3 pièces (2chambres) s'élève à 100 dollars avec une caution exorbitante de 450 dollars, un peu moins dans les autres villes. C'est pourquoi beaucoup d'Iraniens vivent dans des quasi bidonvilles. Quel avenir pour des miliciens qui se marient devant les caméras du régime pour simuler que tout va bien ? Aucun car un micro-ondes coûte 80 dollars, une machine à laver 180 dollars et un réfrigérateur au moins 300 dollars. Ils ne pourront pas trouver un logement et avoir une cuisine rudimentaire ! Même les jeunes qui travaillent pour le régime n'entrevoient aucun avenir pour eux-mêmes. Le régime est au bord de l'effondrement économique après seulement trois mois de privations, d'embargo et de sanctions de facto depuis le début de la guerre contre Trump. Les riches du régime mangent un peu moins mais ont des revenus très élevés : supérieurs à 2500 dollars pour chaque enfant de leurs familles très nombreuses. Les patrons du régime et leurs progénitures qui se baladent en Ferrari ne se privent de rien pour payer mieux les va-nus-pieds qu'ils ont rejoint le bassidj pour ne pas mourir de faim. Leur mépris à l'égard de leurs gardes est un facteur secret de mécontentement. Le régime le cache à ses collaborateurs financiers avec les shows de mariages nocturnes en chantant la gloire du Guide. Lais en fait ils tous sont assis sur un tas de barils de poudre. Trump qui a passé beaucoup de temps dans sa jeunesse avec les ouvriers de son père et parle même avec un accent de Brooklyn, qui a fait son succès, est bien équipé mentalement pour ressentir le malaise des classes laborieuses miliciennes iraniennes. Il a aussi de bonnes analystes qui observent la détérioration de l'économie mafieuse du régime jour après jour. Il fait durer la supplice de l'embargo, certain qu'il provoquera un soulèvement général sous peu pourvu qu'il insiste sur un deal inacceptable qui lui donne des prétextes pour viser la masse en colère des miliciens mécontents du régime.
