The 2026 edition of the #SpinelliForum comes to a close in Milan.
After three days of dialogue and collaboration, 60 young leaders from Germany and Italy presented policy recommendations on four of Europe’s most pressing challenges: defence and security, trade and economic growth, energy resilience, and artificial intelligence.
The recommendations were presented to Andrea Silvestri, Deputy Director General and Central Director for European Countries at the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, and Susanne Welter, Consul General of the Federal Republic of Germany in Milan.
A sincere thank you to all participants for their active participation and valuable contributions, once again highlighting the value of dialogue, cooperation, and strong cross-border connections among the next generation of European leaders.
The German-Italian Young Leaders Dialogue – Spinelli Forum is a joint initiative of the German Federal Foreign Office (@AuswaertigesAmt) and the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation (@ItalyMFA), in partnership with ISPI and Institut für Europäische Politik (@IEP_Berlin).

How can France, Germany, and Italy jointly address key European challenges such as economic com-petitiveness, digitalization and climate change?
On October 7-8, alumni from the #SpinelliForum and Generation Europa gathered in Rome for a full-day workshop and networking.
With support from the German Foreign Ministry (@GermanyDiplo), the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (@ItalyMFA0), @ispionline, @Villa_Vigoni, and the French-German Youth Office (@ofaj_dfjw), participants developed trilateral initiatives to foster stronger cooperation.
Ambassador Hans-Dieter Lucas (@Ambtedesco) welcomed participants of ‘Spinelli meets Generation Europa’ at the German Embassy in Rome (@GermaniaItalia), kicking off important discussions on collaboration between the three EU founding members Germany, France, and Italy. 🇩🇪🇫🇷🇮🇹
