Breaking News: Upstate NY Mayor and hotel owner refuses service to federal border chief Homan.....local and national outrage.
People are talking about boycotting his hotel and #sacketsharbor this summer....some calls for his resignation over this statment as the region is a Trump stronghold.
Sackets Harbor business owner, Alex Morgia, has a message for U.S. border czar Tom Homan: You’re not welcome.
According to WWNY-TV, Morgia, who owns a local marina and several hotels, including the Barracks Inn and the Harbor House Inn in Sackets Harbor, NY said he will no longer provide marina services or accommodations to Homan.
Morgia said he informed the former ICE director three weeks ago that he is not renewing the official’s boat slip this season. He also said he will no longer host Homan’s security detail at his hotels.
“I’m not comfortable having my businesses associated with the direction federal enforcement has taken,” Morgia said in a prepared statement. “I have employees, guests, and community members from a lot of different backgrounds, and their comfort matters to me. It was a personal and business decision, and it’s mine to make.”
Morgia currently serves as the mayor of Sackets Harbor and is a Democrat. Homan is a native of West Carthage and was previously a police officer. He frequently visits Sackets Harbor.
