After consulting with local emergency management officials and the National Weather Service, we do not anticipate additional overnight freezing conditions. As a result, Carroll ISD will be OPEN and operating with normal hours on Thursday, January 29.
Throughout the day and into the evening, our Maintenance team is actively working across the district using bobcats, salting equipment, and other resources to clear parking lots, sidewalks, entrances, and student drop-off areas. Overnight temperatures are expected to remain above freezing, which should continue to improve campus conditions. That said, some slushy or wet areas may remain. We encourage everyone to drive carefully and allow extra time during the morning commute.
If you live in an area still experiencing icy conditions and anticipate arriving late, please contact your campus principal regarding a tardy pass.

Due to ongoing hazardous weather conditions, Carroll ISD schools and offices ๐ฐ๐ข๐ฅ๐ฅ ๐๐ ๐๐๐๐๐๐ ๐จ๐ง ๐๐๐๐ง๐๐ฌ๐๐๐ฒ, ๐๐๐ง๐ฎ๐๐ซ๐ฒ ๐๐.
Our team is closely monitoring conditions, consulting with weather and safety experts, and visiting campuses across the district. Parking lots and walkways remain dangerously icy, creating unsafe conditions for students, staff, and families. Out of an abundance of caution, we are prioritizing safety above all else.
All after-school activities and events are canceled for Wednesday, with the possible exception of afternoon varsity practices pending safe road conditions. Student-athletes should check SportsYou for updates from their coaches.
We will continue to monitor temperatures, road conditions, and campus safety throughout the day and will communicate promptly as decisions are made.

Carroll ISD will be CLOSED on Monday, January 26 due to forecasted inclement winter weather.
While the peak of the winter storm is anticipated over the weekend, icy roads and potentially unsafe driving conditions could affect families and staff into Monday.
Out of an abundance of caution, all campuses and district offices will be closed.

โฃAll after-school activities for Monday are canceled.
The Carroll ISD Board of Trustees meeting originally scheduled for Monday night will be rescheduled to Monday, February 2.
We will continue to closely monitor the weather and road conditions in coordination with the City Emergency Management team, and we will assess whether any additional cancellations or delays are needed.
We will communicate with our community on Monday regarding the status of Tuesday.

The SECURE has been lifted from our CISD campuses, while Old Union Elementary Reunification protocols are currently underway. All other campus operations and schedules will continue as normal.

Please be aware that at this time Old Union Elementary has been EVACUATED as Southlake Police investigate a bomb threat. Out of an abundance of caution, ALL other campuses, including the Administration building, have been placed in a SECURE. Please stay clear of campuses during this time, as no visitors are permitted. We will continue to update our families as more information is known. Rest assured, the safety of our Dragons is ALWAYS our top priority.

Our CISD Safety Team has been closely monitoring the severe weather in our area. At this time, school will start ON TIME; however, we encourage families to use caution when commuting due to wet road conditions.
Please be aware that buses may experience delays of 5-10 minutes as drivers navigate safely through the weather.

Earlier today, a suspicious smell at Carroll Elementary led to a quick response from the Southlake Fire Department. Students and staff were safely moved to the gym and cafeteria while an investigation was underway.
The Fire Department discovered a low-grade gas leak and immediately shut off the gas. Ventilation is in progress, and once the building is cleared, students and staff will be able to return to their regular schedule.
Safety is always our top priority! We appreciate your patience as we resolve this.

#SAFEdragon Update: As a result of SPD's thorough investigation and no credible threat determined, CHS and CSHS will be open for normal operations tomorrow. We want to express our appreciation for the Southlake Police officers, detectives, and our SROs for their collaboration.
#SAFEdragon Update: All after-school activities at CHS and CSHS are canceled today as the Southlake Police continue their investigation of a security threat at CHS. The safety of our Dragons is always our top priority, and we will update our community as more info is available.
#SAFEdragon Alert: After an anonymous report of a potential threat was received overnight, CHS & CSHS campuses are CLOSED today, May 1, while the Southlake Police conduct a thorough investigation. All other CISD campuses are open and will continue with their normal operations.
#SAFEdragon Alert: We continue to get alerts from our bus drivers regarding students riding electric bikes who are driving in front of and around our school buses and school zone traffic. We are further requesting discussions around safe riding practices with our Dragons.
#SAFEdragon Update: After a thorough inspection, the fire department has given the ALL CLEAR for students and staff to return to the CES building. The daily schedule will continue as normal with some slight modifications to the lunch rotations.

CHS Parents - Due to the ongoing investigation at CHS, we will be dismissing our CHS Dragons from the relocation site at Durham Intermediate School, 801 Shady Oaks Drive, ASAP. Any CHS riders who need to take the bus home will be driven from DIS.
