Can confirm that FUTA has communicated with the MBBS students and the date has been fixed for MDCN visit, which is scheduled between the 21st and the 25th of this month, April. Fingers crossed #SaveFutaMbbs

In 2021 I applied for medicine and surgery at the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA) I got 92 in PUTME and with 288 in UTME i wasn't given admission that year, Some of my friends were admitted while i kept trying in different years they progressed already So I kept in touch with my guys in FUTA medicine, we talk once in a while i really don't ask about accreditation so this evening I messaged my guy to ask how far they've gone I was surprised to hear that he's been in 300L for the past 3 years and what even shocked was that there is no hope of moving forward FUTA please give them substantial information The journey is already long please 🙏🙏 @TahirMamman @Suwaiba_Said @NigEducation @MDCNigeria @aproko_doctor @Wizarab10 @john322226 #saveFUTAMBBS

5 YEARS. STILL IN 300 LEVEL. This is the nightmare of MBBS students at the Federal University of Technology, Akure (FUTA). Admitted in 2021, these pioneer students are still stuck in pre-clinicals while their mates are preparing for graduation. Why? A total lack of MDCN accreditation for clinical training. Right now: • 5 sets are currently enrolled. • 3 full sets are stagnant in 300 level. • Parents are being asked to fund "mock accreditation" out of pocket. This isn't just a delay; it's a life on pause. Dreams are being suffocated by administrative negligence. WHAT IS THE PLAN, FUTA? We need answers for these students and their families: 1. When is the official MDCN accreditation date? 2. Why was a medical program started without a clear clinical pathway? 3. When will the 1st Professional (MB) exam finally hold? Silence is no longer an option. We are calling on the relevant authorities to intervene and provide a clear timeline for these students.
