One of the reasons we were successful in the #SaveHachi and #SaveJack cases was because concerned citizens made their voices heard. We contacted public officials and made it clear that we do not believe euthanasia should be the automatic outcome for a first time incident.
Today, let's share that same message with Mayor Regina Romero. Let her know that you support fair and reasonable solutions, not death as the only option.
Snuggles is a 2-year-old family dog. His dad is a military veteran, and he has a mom and two small kids waiting at home for him.
He has now spent nearly 8 months sitting in a shelter kennel while his family fights to save his life.
Yet the government continues to pursue euthanasia.
No matter where you stand on this case, we should all be asking whether other options were ever seriously considered, like a secure harness, a muzzle when needed, stronger fencing, additional containment, behavioral management, and supervised handling.
There are ways to protect the public without killing Snuggles.

@JillEllenM @KGRII2 Thank you! We have an amazing attorney, Barbara Tatum that helped us on #SaveHachi and #SaveJack. Sharing in case you find someone who needs her.
@BjDazzy @Oveliaochoaaaa Sadly, it is the right too. #SaveJack was sentenced to death early this year in Montgomery County, Tx by a Republican Judge for a first-time minor incident. Thank God the X community saved him.
Sharing his release video because I love it so much.

Jack is FREE and on his way home to the loving family he should have always been with.

Welcome home, sweet boy. ๐ถ๐ก
@brendanmjones Thank you Brendan. We will need the help. This case is heading for appeals..which makes it a little more difficult to beat. But we've done it before with #SaveHachi and #SaveJack...we will do it again.
Please don't let an innocent dogs life be taken.. He was failed by humans. He needs us all to join the fight to save him.

I have to do this ๐
Just Like #SaveHachi & #SaveJack
Together we can help bring attention and support to
๐จ #SaveLucy A soldier saved her in war and now she is facing euthanasia over a minor complaint at home. &
๐จ #SaveSadie An Amazon driver ran over a family dog and left her to die
Thank you for sharing & caring ๐๐๐พ๐ซถ
Today has been a busy day.
I am actively working two dog cases right now:
๐จ #SaveLucy A soldier saved her in war and now she is facing euthanasia over a minor complaint at home.
๐จ #SaveSadie An Amazon driver ran over a family dog and left her to die.
I will post the full stories in the comments.
With #SaveHachi, we ended up with multiple media stories, including two Fox News Houston interviews. That case took time, but it showed what can happen when people pay attention.
Today I have been working the phones, emails, and tip lines trying to get these stories in front of the right people.
I just want to say thank you to everyone sharing, calling, messaging, praying and paying attentionโฆ it matters more than you probably realize.
This community shows up every time, and it never goes unnoticed.
Animal advocates on X are the best. Seriously. ๐พ โค๏ธ
Another incredible HERO of the #SaveHachi and #SaveJack movement ๐พ
Barbara Tatum is an Animal and Domestic Violence victim advocate and a former domestic violence prosecutor in El Paso County, Texas. She has spent her career fighting for victims and giving a voice to those who cannot speak for themselves.
Today, she continues that mission through her private practice, Barbara Tatum Law, PLLC, serving families in Richmond, Katy, and Fort Bend County.
Hachi and Jack would not have been saved without her.๐
@hollyfurneaux75 @samsonsjustice @RosenbergTXGov #SaveJackโs case was an actual bite with a puncture wound and the shelter was very sweet to his family when they picked him up.
Unlike @RosenbergTXGov @RosenbergPolice
#SaveHachi and #SaveJackโs AMAZING attorney Barbara Tatum rescued an abused and dumped pit bull in September ๐ถ๐
He had been burned and cut up. Heโs now healed, vetted, neutered, and trained and heโs fabulous.
The only issue: he is aggressive toward male dogs. He is great with people, female dogs, and cats.
If you know anyone looking for a dog in a home with no male dogs, please send them her way.

๐๐ JACK (ID 246909), 4 YO, MALE โ IN MANHATTAN ACC - came into the shelter as an aco - owner surrender on 2/5/2026, with the surrender reason stated as person circumstance- hoarding situation. ๐๐ ๐ฟ ๐ฟ ๐ฟ ๐ฟ
โก๏ธTBD 3/14/26
โก๏ธ TOO LOW ON PLEDGES TO STIMULATE RESCUE INTEREST
โก๏ธ๐๐ 4TH Chance on Emergency Placement List โ BEYOND URGENT - NO ROOM IN SHELTER โ WILL NOT BE GIVEN MUCH MORE TIME โ VERY HIGH EU/SILENT KILL RISK โ ๐๐ ๐ฑ๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ฑ
โก๏ธ 36 DAYS IN SHELTER โ TOO LONG โ TIME IS RUNNING OUT
โก๏ธ JACK IS ON THE EPL FOR BEHAVIORAL REASONS - He is not thriving in the care center and continues to display distance-increasing behavior when approached for interactions. He has not warmed up despite staff using treats and other methods to build a positive association. This designation often means that the cat will be given very little time for rescue/foster/adoption. ๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ฅ
What my friends at ACC say about me: I have lived with cats in my previous home. I'm an independent kitty who likes to do my own thing. I'm sensitive and shy. I'll need extra help from you. I would appreciate slow introductions to new people and places to help me feel safe. Hi, my name is Jack and the shelter has been a little overwhelming for me. I came from a home with many cats, who I've gotten along with well. Because I've lived in this home my entire life and have only been around one person, I have little experience with people and am hesitant of new experiences. I would enjoy living in a quiet home, preferably one with lots of vertical space so I have a place to perch and observe the room. I would also appreciate having experienced, patient adopter(s) who are willing to take things slow with me. I would benefit from socialization, using rewards whenever I make a small positive step like making eye contact, allowing petting, or sniffing your hand. I'd prefer to take things at my own pace and would appreciate some good old fashion TLC. If you can open your heart to adopt a cat like me, I'll hopefully have the confidence to come around to my new people, like you! โค๏ธ ๐ปโค๏ธ ๐ปโค๏ธ ๐ป

Good morning, everyone. ๐
I never like asking for money, especially since we just had a successful fundraiser for #SaveHachi a few weeks ago. But if you have it in your heart and are able, I want to share #SaveJackโs family fundraising page to help with their legal expenses.
Jackโs family is a family of six, including four children, and the emotional and financial strain of this fight has taken a real toll on them. Iโve spoken with them many times and can honestly say they are some of the kindest, most grateful people you could ever meet. They are deeply appreciative of the love and support Jack received from people all around the world.
Last night, the family shared this message, and I wanted to pass it along:
โThank you so much for everything! Jack is so happy to be back and we are ecstatic to have him back!โ
If youโre able to help, even $5 makes a difference. And if you canโt donate, sharing or sending encouragement means just as much.
Thank you ๐พโค๏ธ

@LoneStarChica LoneStarChica, a dedicated dog rescuer with a background in political campaigns, spearheaded the #SaveJack effort by mobilizing X users to call Judge Scharlene Valdez and prosecutor Sarah Stallberg, echoing her successful #SaveHachi campaign in nearby Rosenberg.
