As I’ve said for over a decade
#SaveNightlife
Today on National Pubs Day, we celebrate the heart of our communities - our local pubs. 🍺
Pubs are more than businesses. They’re where friends meet, charities fundraise, sports teams gather, and communities come together. Across our constituency, landlords and hospitality staff work tirelessly to keep these great British institutions alive.
But too many pubs are struggling under rising taxes, business rates and energy costs. That’s why I’m backing Reform UK’s plan to save our pubs and protect the future of local hospitality.
Let’s stand up for our locals and keep the pint flowing for generations to come. 🍻
The Reform UK policy includes proposals to cut VAT to 10%, reduce beer duty by 10% and phase out business rates for pubs.

@TiceRichard For well over a decade over I’ve been saying
#SaveNightlife
I’ve been involved in nightclubs since the 70s
I’ve seen many changes, both in music and costs
But nothing over all those decades compares to the cost increase we have seen these past 6 years

This is exactly what I mean by the Decimation of our Hospitality & Tourism sector.
Labour can raise tax as high as they like, but if there are no business left to Tax you collect LESS TAX🤦♂️
#SaveNightlife #SaveHopsitality #CutVAT
All of hospitality is hit disproportionately hard by increases to business rates.
Hotels are facing a 115% increase and pubs a 76% increase, compared to just 17% for distribution warehouses and 4% for large supermarkets.
@UKHospKate told @BBCr4today why we need action.
Is this the only ticket Labour wants you to buy🤔
With the current fiscal & taxation policies
I think it might be.
I have always campaigned & lobbied to #SaveNightlife
Only @reformparty_uk can #SaveHospitality

For 10 years I've been campaigning and saying #Savenightlife
But it takes on new meaning when you see that,
110,000 jobs have been lost in Hospitality since the last Budget.
Yep, that is 110 THOUSAND job losses in one sector, that's more than any other sector, all thanks to the #LabourParty
Oh, don't think we've forgotten that it was the Conservatives who BANNED DANCING and while the Tories closed all our Pubs, Restaurants & Nightclubs, 'They' had a PARTY
With over 40 years' experience in Nightlife, helping with events on 3 continents, plus owned the UK's longest running same owner Nightclub, trust me when I say,
"It's not too late to #SaveNightlife & #SaveHospitality"

This is not good news for our already struggling Hospitality & Nighttime Economy sector
This is why we MUST
#SaveNightlife
The numbers are in. And they’re not sugar-coated.
Sales across UK hospitality slipped again—down 1% YoY, with bars taking the biggest hit (-5.1%). Pubs held on (+0.5%), but rising costs and weak Bank Holidays have many operators squeezed thin.
If you’re feeling the pressure, you’re not alone—this isn’t just a blip, it’s a pattern. Keep pushing, keep adapting. Summer needs to come through.

"The industry employs more than 2 million people and boasts a turnover of more than 150 billion pounds, so losing its nightlife would have serious consequences for Britain’s economy and culture."
THAT'S why I will always say #SaveNightlife to #SaveCulture

Confidence in the Hospitality sector plunges to a two-year low
https://t.co/iAAz5g5gL9
Just 14% are confident in the future of hospitality as the sector is about to be hit by £3.4 BILLION of additional costs from April.
There has NEVER been a more important time to #SaveNightlife
I will be standing for Staffordshire County Council in Cannock Town on May 1st, saving our Hospitality sector, our Nightlife & Nighttime Economy is top of my agenda.
Remember Hospitality, the Great British Pub is the heart of British culture, it brings communities together and generates social cohesion as does Nightlife.
Our Nighttime economy has become a forgotten sector, it is everything you do 6pm till 6am, it's far more than late-night dancing, it's when most of your Out of Home Leisure Activities happen, from sports clubs & leisure pursuits to Bowling, Concerts, Theatres and yes Nightclubs.
"In 2024, the Night-Time Economy continues to dominate at £153.91bn, with steady growth at 2.5%. The Day-Time Economy saw modest growth, reaching £69.6bn, while the Night-Time Cultural Economy grew to £42.71bn."

What has and is happening to our hospitality sector is a disgrace. The Tories decimated Hospitality & Nightlife, I fear Labour and their tax rises will destroy it.
Please #Labour #SaveNightlife before it is gone forever.
At the very least read this report
Today, in association with @ASI we've released our report to Gov't that lays bare the severe pressures facing pubs and Hospitality.
We're calling for 6 key interventions:
Sector specific VAT
Deferring Business Rates increase
Fairer tax
Hospitality led regeneration of our High Streets
Rethinking National Insurance to boost job creation
Review of energy costs.
Without intervention, its last orders for many.
The UKs Hospitality scene will be changed forever.

The Power of Music can help & heal everyone
It's far more than good times on the dance floor.
Music gives a myriad of advantages for the mind, body, and, of course, the soul.
This is why I strive to #SaveNightlife it's not just that hard core beat on a dancefloor, it's the social cohesion and the beauty all music gives to all people, no matter where you are or what time of day or night it may be.
UK Music and @MusicforDemUK 's #PowerOfMusic report outlines how music can be used to help improve the nation’s health and wellbeing.

The changes to NIC threshold level are already having a detrimental effect on Nightlife, many venue owners I have spoken with have already lowered staff levels and some have even reduced opening hours
This is NOT how you #SaveNightlife
Yesterday, there was a debate in the @UKHouseofLords on the National Insurance Contributions Bill.
Thank you to Baroness Lawlor for raising the disproportionate impact the increase to the employer NICs threshold will have the hospitality sector.
