First of all, they sincerely thanked everyone who continues to speak up for animals and for all the efforts made to help save animals’ lives. According to their response: 🔹 The Lady Freethinker team held a strategy meeting on July 31 and will be working over the next month with a coalition of China-based animal advocates to develop the next phase of their campaign. They expect new actions and advocacy initiatives to be announced soon. Current plans under discussion include: 1️⃣ Organizing an animal protection rally in Washington, D.C. The team is considering organizing a public demonstration during President Xi Jinping’s visit to the White House on September 24, using Wang Wang’s case to call for stronger animal protection laws in China. 2️⃣ Calling on Ontario, California to reconsider its sister-city partnership with Jieyang Jieyang, Guangdong, is a sister city of Ontario, California (USA). Lady Freethinker is considering sending a formal letter or contacting the City of Ontario, asking officials to reconsider, suspend, or end the sister-city relationship until meaningful action is taken by Jieyang to strengthen animal protection and address serious cases of animal cruelty. 💛 The Lady Freethinker team ended their message with: “Hang in there!” This reminds us that the international animal welfare community has not forgotten Wang Wang and is actively planning the next stage of global advocacy. 🙏 Thank you to everyone who has signed petitions, contacted Chinese authorities, shared information, and continued raising awareness.
