Earlier today, I joined colleagues of the Mombasa Law Society, members of the civil society and the 4th estate to continue calling out the President over his recent unconstitutional attacks on the independence of the judiciary, and insistence on mutilating the Rule of law.
I reiterated that the Honourable Chief Justice should ensure that any dialogue on this topic between the JSC, Executive and Legislature can only be for purposes of receiving an apology from the President - which ought to be as loud as his attacks and insults from his allies. The President and any other aggrieved person should follow the established remedial procedures.
Any intended engagements with the Executive, and Legislature, ought to be in a manner that is Constitutional, transparent, and would guarantee that the independence of each of our three arms of government and upholds the Rule of law.

Yesterday, the 12th January 2024 I participated in the Law Society of Kenya peaceful protest march dubbed, #ConstitutionalSafeguards.
The objective of the march which was to reaffirm our oath and the commitment of Advocates to defend the independence of the Judiciary, compliance with court orders and express our strong condemnation of the Head of States remarks undermining the independence of the Judiciary, was met.
Let us continue to firmly and boldly stand for the rule of law.
