Most institutional investors value liquidity, and pay premiums for it
But they cannot usually enter or exit SMOT without causing major price swings
Selldown by #2 shareholder though has increased SMOT's freefloat by ~5% in 2026
Despite four quarters of strong YoY EPS growth, why does #SMOT trade at TTM PER of under 4x?
Is market fearing profits are cyclical and unsustainable?
Or are low freefloat and high absolute share price the main deterrents?
A higher payout could also help boost valuations

SMOT reported an EPS of 117.35 for APR–JUN 2026, showing a giant improvement of 401% YoY. However, QoQ EPS declined by 14%, mainly due to the Middle East war and the import duty surcharge. The share is currently trading at a PER of 3.48. We have also seen some changes among the top shareholders, which you can see in the next quarterly financials

But with institutional buyers mopping up part of seller's volumes at Rs1,200 and seller indicating no further sales at those prices, share has rebounded
