Youngの2曲は南部アメリカの奴隷制や人種差別の歴史を強く批判した内容でバンドは「南部全体を一方的に悪者扱いしている」と感じ反論するためにこの曲を作りました。
#RonnieVanZant は当時「Neilは1〜2羽の鴨を撃つために全部の鴨を撃ってるみたいだ」と語っています。
#EdKing が作った特徴的なイントロのギターリフが曲の顔です。リハーサル中に #Rossington が繰り返し弾いていたものを基にVan Zantが歌詞を付けました。
