PLEASE HELP US GIVE HIM A CHANCE TO HEAL. 💔 Some dogs endure more than we will ever know, yet somehow, they still find it in their hearts to trust us. Buck is one of those dogs. 💔 After speaking further with Buck’s owner, we learned that Buck needed urgent medical attention due to a long-untreated ear infection. We also learned that Buck and Blue had been left abandoned in the home for an undetermined amount of time by the other owner. We won’t go into further detail about the circumstances, but we do want to make one thing clear: the owner who surrendered them was unaware of what had happened and reached out for help immediately upon learning of the situation. And when that call for help came, we knew we had to act. We immediately began coordinating care and found a short-term medical foster who could take BOTH boys. Last night, their owner met one of our transport volunteers, and Buck and Blue made their way to safety. ❤️ But while they are finally safe, their journey to healing is only beginning. 🐾 BLUE appears to be in good physical health, but the emotional toll of what he has experienced is heartbreaking. His physical needs may not be immediately visible, but psychological wounds can take time, patience, and love to heal, too. 🐾 BUCK is in desperate need of both medical care and recovery. When Buck arrived, he was severely matted, had an overwhelmingly pungent odor, and was suffering from an ear that was raw, swollen, and clearly causing him tremendous pain. Yet, despite everything his little body was enduring, Buck was still happy to receive affection Even while hurting, even while uncomfortable, even after everything he has been through, Buck still wanted love. Our veterinary team saw Buck first thing this morning, and what they found confirmed just how urgently he needed help. He has a chronic ear infection that had progressed to the point of leaking pus. The inside of his ear flap was extremely raw, and his entire ear was severely matted and swollen. Buck had to be sedated so his ear could be thoroughly cleaned and treated. And that wasn’t all. Buck weighs just 66 pounds and is severely emaciated. His body has been deprived of what it needs, and he cannot simply be given large meals to make up for lost time. He must follow a carefully monitored, slow refeeding plan to help his body recover safely. Buck has a long road ahead of him. He needs continued veterinary care (he wasn't healthy enough today for vaccines), proper nutrition, medication, and time to heal. But despite his physical condition, he remains in surprisingly good spirits. And we are going to fight to make sure that spirit has every opportunity to shine. Today’s veterinary bill for Buck was $440, and that is only the beginning of the care he will need. His ongoing treatment, recovery, and nutritional needs will bring additional expenses that our rescue must find a way to cover. We are a volunteer-run rescue, and every dog we help is made possible by the generosity of people who believe that even the most forgotten dogs deserve a chance. Buck didn’t ask for any of this. Blue didn’t ask for any of this. But now that they are in our care, we are committed to helping them move forward. 🙏 If you can donate $5, $10, $25, or whatever you can spare, your contribution will help us recoup Buck’s veterinary cost and provide the care he needs to recover. Every dollar matters. Every share helps spread the word. And every act of kindness brings Buck and Blue one step closer to a brighter future. Our temporary foster family is also working on putting together a wishlist for the boys. 🐾 Please donate toward Buck’s medical care if you can PayPal @LFAR https://t.co/FfGqO8R1KY Venmo @Lucky-farms-animal-rescue https://t.co/j2nd1VfWCU

💔 BUCK NEEDS US NOW. PLEASE HELP US GIVE HIM A CHANCE TO HEAL. 💔

Some dogs endure more than we will ever know, yet somehow, they still find it in their hearts to trust us. Buck is one of those dogs. 💔

After speaking further with Buck’s owner, we learned that Buck needed urgent medical attention due to a long-untreated ear infection.

But while they are finally safe, their journey to healing is only beginning.

Yet, despite everything his little body was enduring, Buck was still happy to receive affection

Even while hurting, even while uncomfortable, even after everything he has been through, Buck still wanted love.
