भारत में आरक्षण पर चल रही बहस के बीच दुबई के मशहूर भारतीय इन्वेस्टर अक्षत श्रीवास्तव ने जनरल कैटेगरी के छात्रों को एक बड़ी सलाह दी है। सोशल मीडिया प्लेटफॉर्म 'एक्स' पर उन्होंने लिखा कि जनरल कैटेगरी के जो छात्र मेरिट के आधार पर मुकाबला करते हैं, उन्हें मौका मिलते ही देश छोड़कर विदेश चले जाना चाहिए। अक्षत का तर्क है कि भारत में सत्ता में कोई भी राजनीतिक दल आए, आरक्षण खत्म नहीं होने वाला है। उन्होंने कहा कि छात्रों को सरकार या राजनीति से उम्मीद रखने के बजाय अपनी मेहनत और कमाई पर फोकस करना चाहिए। उन्होंने आर्थिक आजादी पाने के लिए यूएई, थाईलैंड, जापान और सिंगापुर जैसे देशों का रुख करने का सुझाव दिया। उनका मानना है कि कई देशों में आबादी घट रही है और वहां हुनरमंद लोगों की काफी जरूरत है। कभी-कभी तो लगता है ये सही है।

I think it was a bad decision to come back to India. It's time to go back to the US. There is nothing left in India for the GCs, especially males. I don't want my 5 year old son to face the harsh realities of the reservation, acts and laws, when he grows up. If one day, he asks me, why can't he get into the top IIT, but his SC/ST friend can, even with half his marks, and the same economic status, I will have no answer. I guess I will just have to say, it's because we don't care about merit, but representation.
