For those like me who are addicted to playing, one new way I am managing my frequent visits to #TiltCity is by setting a time cap on playing. Google has a timer. I set it, starting playing, and when it's done, it's done.

A few weeks ago, I said that the only way to avoid #TiltCity was not to play or never lose. I take that back today. You have to find your discipline. By loading up on tactics work and setting a game cap in my head before I play (advice I have admittedly ignored), followed by immediate review, I find that I am winning more than losing. I'm seeing the board better regardless of the time control I play. This has the dual benefit of breaking my addiction to playing. I might finally be on my way to seeing the desired outcomes because I am not in a rush to arrive. Greatness is a process. You can't force it. You can't even really "chase" it. I am learning that you grind your way to it, day after day, and when you reach it you won't even know because you'll still be trying to push forward.
