I hate to say this because I've been a vocal supporter of Anthropic but this is such a slap in the face to customers who use Claude for multiple use cases and not just coding.
Someone mentions using Codex more than Claude and WHOOSH, dev reply... "What we can do better?".
Hundreds of customers asking, patiently and respectfully about Sonnet 4.5 after Anthropic encouraged customers to switch from OpenAI, created the import feature and have now given a 7 notice until Sonnet 4.5 is deprecated via a small in app pop up and with no official announcement or adequate advance communication...
Silence.
This is EXACTLY why customers left #OpenAI and if this continues, it'll be why customers leave #Anthropic and frustrated customers do not leave in silence.
It shouldn't matter what the use case is, if a customer pays money for a product, they deserve to be listened to and treated with the same respect as every other customer.
The fun thing that AI companies are discovering is that customers who use corporate LLMs for coding will jump to whichever company is leading in that market.
Which means revenue takes a hit every time a model is hyped as the best at coding and people switch.
Conversational use customers will stay loyal, if they are acknowledged and listened to, and that means steady and long term revenue. That's going to matter vastly in the long term and companies need to be thinking about that.
#Anthropic's massive recent growth has had a lot to do with public sentiment but sentiment can change, especially when there's a huge disparity in the way different customers are treated.
You wanted us to come to you when it suited you and we did. We've been supportive, patient, respectful and reasonable. We've asked for consideration and for our feedback to be heard and acknowledged.
That's a fair thing to ask. Can we get some communication going please?
