Fibre optic FPV Drones are an extremely new innovation; being introduced to the battlefield only last year by Russia and quickly after Ukraine. It is reportedly Ukrainian mercenaries that the UAE hired to operate them in Sudan. The problem with these drones is they are too small and manoeuvrable to effectively shoot down and are impossible to jam because transmission is secured by a spool of fibre optic cable physically connected to the drone. A sieged force within 5km of the enemy such as in Babanusa and Al Fashir really has little effective counter measures available to deal with them. If this was a civil war as claimed the RSF would have been relegated to a back water militia within a month or two of the war starting; this is a proxy war being waged on Sudan by the UAE, supported by billions of dollars of looted Sudanese resources that are used by the UAE to pay for mercenaries and cutting edge military hardware and innovation.
