A special visitor made Big Boy #UP4014's Coast-to-Coast tour even more memorable. 🚂 Jane Elijah, a WWII Navy veteran, recently turned 100 years old and visited Big Boy's whistle stop in Strasburg, Colorado.🚂 Elijah met with Locomotive Engineer Ed Dickens, got an up-close look at our operations and captured postcard-worthy photos with the locomotive. Elijah served as a nurse at California’s Corona Naval Base, a few years after Big Boy rolled off the assembly line in support of the war effort. Big Boy and this remarkable woman both represent an era of service, perseverance and American history. We're honored to have been a part of her journey.

During our Coast-to-Coast tour celebrating #America250, four front-line Operating employees were recognized with the ride of a lifetime inside the cab of Big Boy #UP4014 for displaying dedication, leadership and excellence in their craft. More than 118 craft professionals were nominated for going above and beyond by their local teams. 📷 Conductor Robert Gatton and Bridge Inspector Michael Waxley were in the cab from Kansas City to Lawrence, KS; and Conductor Jason Werren and Material Foreperson Zach Hill got a front-row seat from Greeley, CO, to Cheyenne, WY. Congratulations, honorees! 🚂
