న్యూ ఢిల్లీ: దేశంలోని కోట్లాది మంది వాహనదారులకు భారీ ఉపశమనం కలిగించే దిశగా కేంద్ర ప్రభుత్వం అడుగులు వేస్తోంది. డ్రైవింగ్ లైసెన్స్ (Driving License) కాలపరిమితిని (Validity) గణనీయంగా పెంచే ఒక కీలక ప్రతిపాదనను కేంద్ర రవాణా శాఖ ప్రస్తుతం తీవ్రంగా పరిశీలిస్తోంది. ప్రస్తుత నిబంధనల ప్రకారం.. ఒకసారి డ్రైవింగ్ లైసెన్స్ తీసుకుంటే దాని కాలపరిమితి గరిష్టంగా 20 సంవత్సరాలు మాత్రమే ఉంటుంది. ఆ తర్వాత వాహనదారులు ఆర్టీవో (RTO) కార్యాలయాల చుట్టూ తిరిగి దాన్ని మళ్లీ రెన్యువల్ (నవీకరణ) చేసుకోవాల్సి వస్తోంది. అయితే, త్వరలోనే రాబోతున్న ఈ కొత్త ప్రతిపాదన గనుక అమల్లోకి వస్తే, లైసెన్స్ పొందిన వ్యక్తికి 50 ఏళ్ల వయసు వచ్చేంత వరకు ఎలాంటి రెన్యువల్స్ చేసుకోవాల్సిన అవసరం ఉండదు. అంటే, యువ వయసులో లైసెన్స్ తీసుకున్న వారు మధ్య వయసు వచ్చేవరకు ఎలాంటి టెన్షన్ లేకుండా వాహనాలను నడుపుకోవచ్చు. దీనిపై కేంద్ర ప్రభుత్వం త్వరలోనే తుది నిర్ణయం తీసుకునే అవకాశాలు కనిపిస్తున్నాయి.
డిజిటలైజేషన్ వైపు అడుగులు–ఆన్లైన్లోనే వాహన సేవలు
కేంద్ర ప్రభుత్వం కేవలం డ్రైవింగ్ లైసెన్స్ కాలపరిమితిని పెంచడమే కాకుండా, రవాణా రంగాన్ని మరింత సరళతరం చేస్తూ డిజిటలైజేషన్ వైపు వేగంగా అడుగులు వేస్తోంది. ఇందులో భాగంగా వాహన యజమానులకు ఆర్టీవో కార్యాలయాల్లో ఎదురయ్యే ఇబ్బందులను, దళారుల దోపిడీని అరికట్టేందుకు మరికొన్ని ప్రతిపాదనలను సిద్ధం చేస్తోంది. భవిష్యత్తులో వాహన యాజమాన్య బదిలీలు (Vehicle Ownership Transfers) అంటే ఒకరి పేరు మీద ఉన్న బండిని మరొకరి పేరు మీదకు మార్చడం, అలాగే వివిధ రకాల రవాణా వాహనాల పర్మిట్ రెన్యూవల్స్ (Permit Renewals) వంటి పనులను ఆఫీసులకు వెళ్లాల్సిన పని లేకుండా పూర్తిగా ఆన్లైన్ విధానంలోనే పూర్తి చేసేలా సరికొత్త ప్రపోజల్ను పరిశీలిస్తోంది. ఈ డిజిటల్ సంస్కరణలు గనుక అందుబాటులోకి వస్తే ఆర్టీవో కార్యాలయాల్లో అవినీతి తగ్గడమే కాకుండా, సామాన్య ప్రజలకు సమయం మరియు డబ్బు ఎంతో ఆదా అవుతాయని నిపుణులు అభిప్రాయపడుతున్నారు.
