Property taxes are high because Republicans have shifted the state’s funding responsibilities onto homeowners.
If they were serious about relief, they wouldn’t divert public education dollars to private schools.

He took over Houston ISD and increased taxes last year AND controlled who received those vendor contracts.
Abbott lies about me to hide his record of skyrocketing property taxes and growing state govt. I have never, not once, voted to increase taxes. I have only voted to decrease them.

I have long suspected Abbott will pull a last minute stunt to appease those parents and teachers he has alienated.
I’m not interested in just firing Morath.
I’m interested in taking down the entire corporate education reform model imposed by Morath, Todd Williams and the lobbyists seeking to cannibalize and privatize our education system.
The education reform lobbyists were invited to Abbott’s office this week and Todd Williams’s empire under Commit orchestrated it.
My former RISD superintendent works for Commit.
It wouldn’t be difficult to give Morath his golden parachute 🪂 and appoint an ISD shill/superintendent who is promised “all the things” in order to save Abbott’s butt in November.

Under Greg Abbott, our property taxes have gone up 85% while he took millions in donations from billionaires and corporations.
If he wanted to lower taxes, he had plenty of chances to do so in the last 12 years he's been governor.
The latest example of a state government under Greg Abbott that is so broken that it can’t or won’t provide the basic services we pay for.
Local governments and taxpayers will, again, have to foot the bill.
We can’t afford another 4 years of Greg Abbott.
