#Quadrophenia is one of Britain’s greatest cult films, and #Brighton was every bit as important to the story as the characters themselves. The top image shows the famous #WestPier during filming in 1978. It stood proudly on Brighton’s seafront and became one of the film’s most memorable backdrops as Jimmy wandered the beach during some of the story’s most iconic scenes. Today, the pier is little more than its skeletal remains after years of storm damage and fire, but it’s still instantly recognisable to anyone who loves the film. The surrounding seafront has changed enormously too, with boutique hotels, cafés and restaurants replacing much of the rougher feel that helped define Quadrophenia.

Just stumbled across a photo of Brighton’s West Pier from 2009 😍✨ so nostalgic! The pier may be gone, but the memories are timeless. #Brighton #WestPier #Throwback #Nostalgia
