The @AnneatSaveMe trust started a tag #wakeupdefra. Ineffective testing of cattle costing the exchequer a perpetual annual disease compensation bill, while obsessed with an ineffective costly badger cull. Ignoring evidence from independent expertise and innovative developments in testing, while we wait for promised solutions that never materialise, only attracting grant after grant in development. I really think if DEFRA don’t wake up and close that door of subservience to the NFU we should sack them. Even after a change of government the fight against bovine TB is stuck in a rut and going no were only backwards, yet for some obscure reason the cyclic status quo must be maintained. The badger blame game having achieved nothing is still alive and kicking, but now as a dwindling scapegoat, or is it still that carrot of agribusiness appeasement.

UPDATE: Legal action is underway to challenge the Government's recent badger cull consultation. A pre-action protocol letter has been sent to DEFRA outlining the following issues:
Misleading and inadequate information regarding badger culling efficacy
Failure to provide information on ecological impacts of the policy
No meaningful information on economic impacts of the policy
