Today is Australian National Flag Day. But in Parliament, I was ordered to take off our national flag. I moved a simple motion: let senators wear the Australian flag with pride, especially today. Labor and the Greens shut it down. They called it a "prop". They mocked it. And they made it clear: They don’t respect our flag. They don’t respect what it stands for. And they certainly don’t respect the Australians who do. The Australian flag isn’t a prop — it’s a symbol of who we are. It flies over our Parliament because it represents you. Your family. Your history. Your sacrifices. The Albanese Labor Government and their allies the Greens might be ashamed of it. But I never will be. I wear the flag for everyday Australians, the people who built this country. And I always will. Watch the debate for yourself. See how far Labor and the Greens will go to stop the Australian flag being worn with pride in the Senate. They want it hidden. We know it should be honoured.
